About Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint (전지적 독자 시점)

Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint — often shortened to ORV — began as a Korean web novel written by the duo Sing Shong, serialised from 2018 and completed in 2020 at 551 chapters plus side stories. It follows Kim Dokja, an ordinary office worker and the sole reader who ever finished a little-known web novel called Three Ways to Survive the Apocalypse. When that novel's apocalyptic story suddenly becomes reality, Kim Dokja is the only person on Earth who knows what happens next — and he must use that knowledge to survive a world of scenarios, constellations, and dungeons.

The webtoon adaptation is illustrated by Sleepy-C and produced by REDICE Studio — the same studio behind Solo Leveling — and is published in full colour using the vertical-scroll webtoon format native to Korean platforms like Naver and KakaoPage. Because it reads left-to-right (unlike Japanese manga), it feels immediately familiar to Western comic readers. The webtoon is still ongoing, and a 2025 live-action film, Omniscient Reader: The Prophecy, brought a fresh wave of fans who now want to keep reading past where the film ends.

For readers who want chapters the moment they upload, the Korean raws on MangaDex and Bato.to are the fastest route. MangaLens lets you open any chapter and translate the Korean text inside speech bubbles into English, Spanish, French, or 65 other languages without leaving the page.

ORV's raws are in Korean (한국어). MangaLens's AI reads Korean Hangul inside webtoon speech bubbles — including the stylised action-sound-effect text common in Korean comics — and translates them into your target language. Unlike generic OCR tools, MangaLens is tuned for the tall, narrow text columns inside vertical-scroll webtoon panels.

Choose your language from the MangaLens popup before you translate. Popular choices for ORV readers include English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese (Brazil), Vietnamese, and Indonesian. The translation happens per page load, so you can switch languages between chapters without any reconfiguration.
